European Soil Fauna Atlas preparation meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece

For three days we met for a productive preparation of the Atlas of European Soil Fauna. Many ideas and suggestions were acquired by the meeting organizers and WG2 chairs Maria Tsiafoli and Jérôme Cortet.

The workshop concluded that the Atlas will promote these messages:

  • Soil animal diversity matters.
  • Soil animal diversity should be measured and monitored.
  • Same function is delivered by a different constellation of soil animals
  • Our deep knowledge on soil animal functions will lead to more efficient decisions.
